Does the guy at work like me?

Okay so this guy at work has done this whole joking back and fourth thing for a few months. He recently started calling me his best friend but I don’t know him on a total level to be a serious best friend. He tends to single me out during groups sometimes to joke. He comes up to me to talk and sometimes I get an awkward vibe but other times it makes me forget all my other problems. He always keeps constant eye contact. Recently he broke the touch barrier by fist bumping me… (we work in a warehouse & the whole COVID thing is I think why he only did that? I don't know man). He doesn’t have social media or anything so I have no idea about his outside life. I can’t tell if he’s flirting and into me or if he’s just being friendly?
My friends say he seems to be interested from what I tell them but I can’t tell? Why call me his best friend tho

I don't know if it’s considered being a nerd. He is a manager so I feel like it might be a barrier he’s scared to cross. I think he’s trying to be respectful but I don’t know it’s confusing. He’s in great physical shape and older then me he seems mature. He may be a little dorky but I think that’s everyone. We haven’t known each other for a long time so maybe he’s trying to cross the line?

Well, you need to decide if it's OK to date him in the first place, then talk with him more to get him to show interest more directly by asking you out.
