There's this social stigma that guys loathe musicals and I'm just curious what's your reason for the dislike or perhaps maybe you do like them? I'm interested to hear your thoughts please.

The idea that the plot has to come to a screeching halt so that everyone can sing is immersion breaking to me.

I hate them, they are so annoying. Singing instead of talking ugh.. Cringy to me. But I do have 2 friends who love some musicals.

They're OK. Not something I would seek out. But if a friend or a girlfriend what's me to watch it with them, I won't run away screaming.

Because between operas and today, genres where invented that aligned more with the natural tastes of the typical men.
