How often do women assume that a man messaging them has more "particular" intentions?

A lot of times in online environments I purposely avoid women because I'm always low-key scared to sound, come across or even be treated like someone who's trying to achieve something by interacting with them. And while I can understand women's POV given how harassment can go such a long way, it makes me uncomfortable to think that I might be trying to strike a conversation and the girl is just thinking to herself "lord, not again". I feel that it's a valid feeling on both end given the circumstances.

How often do you see a man in your DMs or trying to interact with you online and wonder "is he another creep?"

All the time.

Almost always.

Often.

Not often.

It is because of those "particular intentions" that I have eliminated every follower and do not accept any DMs on my account. The only 4 followers that are stuck to my account are 2 administrators imposed upon me by GaG and 2 inactive members that GaG is unable (or unwilling) to remove.

In real life also, my thinking is exactly how you expressed it in your question descriptive.

Now, if you want to be really honest, if you approach a girl or send her a message, what is the true purpose, the final aim behind this approach? If the girl answers positively, you automatically will think that you can give it a try, right? A little flirting is harmless. Well it is not really because the definition of flirting is

"a sexual behavior involving spoken or written communication, as well as body language, by one person to another, to suggest interest in a deeper relationship with the other person".

... and we all know what is meant under a "deeper relationship".

The thing is, why does it have to lead to flirting? I don't wanna flirt. As harmless and fun it can be, that's not my groove, not how I roll. And the fact that I'm a man isn't an indicator that I'm automatically interested in any sort of sexual or romantic interaction. So no, I don't automatically think I can give a try. Even if and when I can, I don't. It's not my thing.

Of course that given the predatory behavior men tends to have, no one can really tell who's is who, but just because I'm striking conversation it doesn't mean that I value those things over just a conversation. Regardless of what we carry between our legs we're all people and we all got something to say.

But I do completely understand where you're coming from and that answers my question. Thank you.

Thanks for your lengthy feed-back. Unfortunately, in my age group, people that think like you are rather the exception than the rule and my motto is always "Better safe than sorry" and that is why I do react the way I do, even if it means to sacrifice a potentially interesting discussion.

For me personally, not that often. I don't think the opposite sex is that interested in me. I almost kind of assume the opposite.
