What does it mean when a guy never initiates conversation but talks on call for like 2hours?

few days ago, i heard a guy's voice on a call (on discord)

and his voice is damn attractive, so i decided to dm him
and i dmed him by saying like"hey , you have a great voice and all" , to which he said thanks and we started texting (I don't know if i was sounding like a creep or something)
i was kinda trying to flirt with him (I think I'm bad at it)
ok so i complimented him few more times and talked about few other things and i told him that I would love to talk on call with him, to which he agreed (oh yesss!! ;))
and we texted till late night
so after 2days , yesterday was the very first time i talked to him on call... we talked for 2 hours (it was fun {atleast to me}, we were laughing and sharing things)
and texted a bit after that
but then he never initiates the conversation (on text), but when i say hi and all he talks me very nicely
and today too we talked for almost 2 hoursi was the one who asked him for a call (both times) i also heard from one of his friend that he has like a thing with a girl (I don't know if she is his girlfriend or a crush) after knowing this I stopped flirting. so should i ask him if he has a girlfriend? well if he really does have a girlfriend then iam just a friend to him. I'm confused right now, i don't know, if he is really interested in talking to me or he is bored or something.

He may not have a girlfriend exactly, but it sounds like he has something going on with someone. You heard his voice and have since pursued him in a very determined way, initiating the flirting, texting and calls etc, and it’s ok to go for what you want. But you don’t know what his private life is like and that’s one of the first things you should want to know. So the fact he isn’t reaching out with the same eagerness may say something about his availability..

i mean i really want to talk to him. but then if he already has something going with someone, should i just back off or should i keep texting even if he doesn't initiates first. but this way, he might just think I'm desparate and clingy

I would not text him anymore. Keep things strictly work related and draw that line. I also saw (and hopefully didn’t misinterpret) that you stay at your job because of him, but maybe you should consider looking elsewhere. You aren’t helping yourself get over your crush by staying in that position and it sounds like it’s progressively getting harder not to make a move. I respect very much that you wouldn’t want to play a part in him cheating, but all the flirting and stuff also isn’t ok. You’ve got to move past this but it’s hard to do so when you work so closely. Maybe a new job is step one..

I would say to go ahead and ask him, because it’s better to know now rather than keep engaging and he’s not even available in a real way. If he has someone then I would back off and be friendly, because you don’t want to pursue someone who’s unavailable.

He really doesn't think that you like him. Not enough to talk to a guy like him anyways. He doesn't believe he's good enough for you. You can tell him multiple times but he still doesn't believe it.
