That's not Necessarily true that men and women can't be platonic friends there are a lot of cases where they are and can be. I've seen plenty of examples even have examples of my own I've dated women and I've been platonic friends with women to. It's all about how you 2 interact with one another if you both feel like you're only friends and don't want sex from each other but enjoy each other's company then there shouldn't be a problem being just friends
