Why would my guy friend ask me why I stopped talking to him when he got a gf?

So my guy friend told me he has a girlfriend and I was like cool because I didn’t know what else to say and then today he texts me saying this (why I stopped talking to him cause he has a gf) which I didn’t the only difference is I just stopped talking to him as often as I used to and I don’t send him snaps of me and stuff anymore just being respectful lol but yeah why would he message me saying that?

I understand why you wouldn't message him as much, you aren't where his attention belongs and being close friends with the opposite sex who gets a significant other is awkward and uncomfortable.

But he probably doesn't understand that you don't want to intrude on his relationship.

Because you let his relationship affect your friendship. Don't allow the fact that he has a girlfriend change the way that you behave with him. He'll sense the change and he'll feel guilty like he is the cause for the sudden change in your friendship.
