I have been in my first ever friends with benefits relationship for the passed 2 months and we see each other about every 10 days. The only time we message is when I ask if he’s free later that night to hook up. His schedule is busier than mine so sometimes I message a couple of times a week. Is it normal that I am the one that asks him if he’s free that night? The only time he’s asked if I’m available was one night when he got drunk but otherwise , nothing.

I'm a hard-core relationship guy. I went out of a 15 year marriage straight into a 2 year relationship. I'm just dumbfounded and out of the loop when it comes to friends with benefits. It seems to be lacking in so many ways like your question indicates. Sex once every 10 days, constant confusion, and lack of love and intimacy. It's a popular lifestyle these days so maybe it's what a lot of people want?

Yes it's normal, I was initially the one who started texting my friends with benefits whenever I wanted sex so it just became a thing where I continued to let him know I wanted sex.
