They just come off attention seeking to me. there's nothing wrong with being proud of one's body and progress. But when thats all they share are half-naked pics it makes them appear superficial. Thats all they're valued for is their body. Their personality and nothing else matters. Looks matter but there has to be a balance between appearance and authenticity.

Not a good look on dating profiles either, unless in swim trunks.

I bias somewhat by age though and mass. Sixteen-year-old skinny guy with abs isn't so impressive to me; he might not have even had to try much. A 75-year-old guy with epic lats with a six-pack is damned impressive. Getting washboard abs at 75-years old takes like a whole life philosophy around fitness and nutrition that really works.
