Does he like me (or am I overthinking)?

Okay, so I met this guy on insta and he’s super kind to me. (We’re both 18 by the way and he’s Turkish I don't know if that’s important info) We talk to each other daily about everything and he’s been there for me because I have a really shitty/toxic home situation.

Recently we met up and it was really nice, he’s so funny and sweet. He payed for all of the food (about €35), when I asked him to let me pay or at least the half of it he refused. Even if I tried to pay, he wouldn’t let me. I’m planning to pay him back because I feel bad but I’m thankful !

He let me into his house, we watched a Disney movie (Luca) and he took care of me because I had a sore throat. He also walked me back to the train station and he said that he wants to meet again.

It’s been 2 days and I noticed that his reply’s are shorter etc. (I don't know I could be imagining things) but we’re still talking to each other like usual.

.. I’ve been trying to convince myself that we’re just friends and that he can’t be interested in me that fast BUT I can’t help but wonder. Is this guy interested in me or does he feel sorry?

If a guy is super friendly without knowing you very well and agrees to pay, invites you to his place and allegedly takes care of you, then this is not because he feels bad about you but because he is interested and has very specific intentions.

The nationality of that person is not important but the fact that this guy is 18 and that he is at the peak of his sexual hormonal production. Of course he has an interest in you but not so much as a person but rather because you are of the opposite gender.

You are definitely not overthinking the entire issue but you seem oblivious to the fact that by acting the way he does, he hopes for more than just to have a casual chat with you.

Just be aware of it and be careful.

Don't screw things up by overthinking and u are 18 by the way so don't rush into anything take it slow and monitor his behaviour if there is consistency then maybe he is interested if not then u know better

I'm Turkish too, usually Turkish men don't make women pay, it's like a tradition. This is half the case for the new generation, who are now Westernization and starting to take Europe as an example (for ex, feminism). Some girls like it, some don't. Anyway, it's okay to think too much because different cultures and it's not clear if his interest is friendly. Maybe there are hormonal reasons or he might be interested too. To understand this, you need to take a step a little bit. He may be giving short answers because he thinks you don't want him. The best way to know that he is interested in you is through constant communication. He should not refuse your meeting unless there is an important reason, he should be interested in your hobbies, interested in your culture and caring about your thoughts. Although some of the Turkish men are flirty but most of them are woods :) But if he really wants the woman he's interested in, he tries hard. As a Turk, it is difficult to evaluate my own people because there are many kinds of men: D If he pays the bill, he may be a traditionalist, I say be careful, but he may have done it just for kindness, I can't say for sure. Look at his behavior when you meet. Good luck:)
