What's wrong with my teacher?

Anonymous

Currently we are having a vacation and soon our classes will restart. There I have to attend this very teacher's class. He is in his 30s, single and a bit creepy. I started to attend his classes only the last semester. There he picked on me a lot, asked me questions, used my name while giving practical examples and tried to make fun of me. It was as if I was the dumbest kid in the class. He even messaged me personally to tell me that I needed to study stuffs that were already in my syllabus. Whenever we met in the hallway, he just stared mutely. Even when we were in the class and I looked at him, I could find him staring at me.

Now, during this break, I am receiving messages from him everyday. At first his questions were formal inquiries about my studies. But with the progress of time, he is getting more personal. I can see him asking about my daily activities, hobbies and giving compliments that sound a little inappropriate for a teacher-student relationship. Like, he would constantly tell me that he has never met anybody with a more interesting personality. His tone of speaking has also changed drastically. At points my teacher sends the basic "what are you doing? Can we talk?" text. He even messages me, "can't wait for the break to end. We haven't met each other for a long period of time."

I don't like him talking to me this way. He is my teacher and not my friend. And I am not interested in him. Telling the authorities would not change the scenario because I am an adult.

Is he hitting on me? I am not sure.
