Why is he still talking with me after rejecting me always?

First I thought he likes me.. because of his words but he said he only said that because I was sad and wanted to cheer me up.. I was disappointed. I tried again but still keep rejecting me. He had always a different reason. I'm mixed and confused. He's like he wants to marry but also not. Pretending to be happy but is broken inside. When he has time he responds me but I wonder if he just pity my loneliness.. he says I'm very kind and good but he doesn't want to hurt me or lose us. The last time he said that before he was like he doesn't want to be commanded.. has to go another country.. I don't understand him but he invited me to come to his city. I guess we will remain only friends forever :/ he said I'm making him happy. He's just a busy sleepless (you need to see his eyes) cop. lonely. family close man. Why is he talking with me when he avoids females... I'm not a guy. I messaged but he never gave me an answer :( decent just joking

I’m sorry you’re going through this, I’ve been there and it’s so hurtful. For starters, I wouldn’t go to his country. Yes he invited you, but you already know you’d be going as a friend only and you know it would hurt spending that time with him and his mind doesn’t change. I don't know how many times you can allow him to reject you before you say enough is enough, but I hope that time comes soon. If I were you I would take some time away from him to heal, then maybe be friends in the future when you’re actually able to. Truth is that it doesn’t matter if you’re in the picture or not, he will eventually get into a relationship and marry someone. You could either put yourself through deep, aching pain watching that happen, or save yourself from witnessing it at all. But there’s no other way. I don’t think you can take another rejection, and you can’t be a good friend right now when you know you want more. So help yourself and walk away.
