Was this wrong of my boyfriend to do? Am I overthinking this?

So my boyfriend and I were having late night fun at his place but his parents were sleeping in the next room. He was using his fingers and I was breathing loudly (I’m not really a loud person so I don't know if maybe he was just scared or paranoid) but at one point he placed his hand over my mouth and I can’t remember exactly what he said (he wasn’t rude about it bc he’s very nice and respectful, also this happened like a month ago so it kinda just jumped back into my mind) he was just like telling me to be a quiet or make less sound but his hand over my mouth for a second there bothered me and I took it off and told him not to do that bc it felt like he was trying to dominate me which I don’t like. He said it wasn’t his intention and he wasn’t trying to be dominant he just had a reaction bc he thought I was being loud and his parents would hear. He again apologized and cleared up that he didn’t wanna make me feel uncomfortable. Am I overthinking this? Should I let this go?
