Guys calling you beautiful as a joke?

i called this one guy because i saw him in the store and he says where are you so i let him know. we see each other in person and he goes “oh it’s that black person” as a joke (he’s black just like me, my pfp isn’t me) and then he hangs up the whole bc we’re near each other. then i said “what did you say🙄” and he goes “i said wheres that amazing, beautiful person” and i kinda like paused after he said beautiful because i didn’t know what to say. was he actually calling me beautiful or was it part of the joke

Well, you’re definitely both, and he was teasing you in a friendly way. He sees you as confident in who you are so he doesn’t feel you’d be bothered by it, but when you questioned it he wanted to make sure just in case that you knew he was joking, and meant well.

I don't know how he interpreted his own jokes or how he sees you- you’re both black and that’s unity (inside stuff)?

Read in sing-song voice: then you’re beautiful, so like things in common… why not share a burger.. and cup of coffee… I don’t know.. lol

Overall, nothing in this scenario seems bad to me, and I’d just throw it out there to trust in your looks (:

You think too much and over analyze. The worst thing you can do is make assumptions and ask strangers for meaning into other people's actions. If you really want to know then ask the guy what he meant. Assumptions ain't it.

It's remotely possible he's just being nice. But more likely he's attracted to you and that's his way of saying it.
