Also, how should one go about doing it? What should/shouldn't people do while playing with someone's hair? (What makes it weird, uncomfortable, annoying, etc...)

As long as I’m comfortable with her. No. It feels absolutely amazing. As long as he seems to be enjoying it. Keep doing it it feels good to make someone feel good.

Maybe in return have him play with your hair maybe brush it. Stroke it. Scratch and massage your head.

Just tell him to tell you what he likes and what makes your friend uncomfortable.

You’re not weird. You enjoy making someone feel good as well as playing with someone’s hair maybe it’s also relaxing to you as well. Then it’s a win win

I love it. As for advice, gentle. Go with the hair's growth not against it. Read the guy: some actually care about how their hair is styled and even if they like their hair played with, doing it will ruffle their feathers.

Then go for it! Just run your fingers through it in the direction that it grows (same concept as you pet a cat or a dog in the direction their fur grows). A little scalp massage never hurt either.

I always enjoyed this. It was close, almost intimate, without needing a room. And felt good.

When I was about 35 in 1998, I had very long hair. I was growing it out for Locks of Love and cut it for that charity when I was 37.


In 1998, I was working for a small company co-owned by two buddies from college. Our administrative assistant was a wonderful woman who lived in town. At the time, she was 51, I believe. Her son was another employee - great kid - and her high school daughter would often stop by. I know that my hair was a topic of conversation and interest by women and, one day, the daughter asked if she could French braid my hair right there while I was working. I said "Sure" and she did. We all had lots of fun with that - I had never had anything like that before.

So, if you want to play with a guy's hair, if it's long, that's easy - ask to braid it. But, if not, ask him questions about his hair and then ask for permission to touch it... then just start playing with it appearing as if you are absentmindedly doing so.

Yes, when I had hair, now I'm losing hair so all depends if she minds playing with my baldness on top, I still do have hair on top of the back of my hair.
