Why would a guy sleep with my friend to spite me?

I have a boyfriend who I love to bits, but this guy who is my "friend" apparently liked me. I thought we were just friends because we WERE just friends, but months later he told me he wanted more and liked me the whole time. I told him no because I have a boyfriend and that we should stop being friends as I don't want to lead him on, but he then ended up sleeping with one of my best (female) friends. They slept together but later he told me he only did it to make me jealous and to make me mad. I'm not jealous of mad, but I'm mad he used my friend like that.

Apparently he was trying to talk badly about me to my best friend in bed, and she was having none of it.

Why do some guys do this? Sleep with a girl's friend (s) just to "spite" her or something?

Childish behavior. Both men as well as women do it. Just trying to get a ride out of the person. You hurt them bad, not intentionally but he’s trying to hurt you back but this time is intentional. Maybe he thinks if he sleeps w your friend you’ll get jealous, run into his arms and have a happy ending. Dude needs to go.

I know people who do this kinda thing. People who do that haven't grown up yet, and they do it because of their ego. They want to get back at your for perceived rejection by you.
