Do you let your dog kiss your mouth/face?

I have a boyfriend and he does this, and it makes me very uncomfortable. She has very rotten teeth and her breath smells like a dumpster. And he thinks it’s funny and tries to kiss me right after, I find it rather disgusting and make him go wash his face if he’s trying to kiss me, am I over reacting?

I love dogs.. and my cousin's dog is so cute and friendly and she loves me.. I pet her BUT I never let her kiss my mouth or face.. I never let her lick me. Yes I give her smooch on her forehead. But all the licking is just NO for me. She is a very clean dog without any doggie breath.. Dogs kissing face and lips is not for me.
I know some love it and I'm not judging anyone.. it's just my personal preference

Yes I knew it!!! Not all dog lovers do that, he keeps insisting that it’s totally normal and all dog lovers do this. He just has no boundaries with his dog she has what’s called “Velcro dog”. He even lets her go into the restroom with him and sits her on his lap while he goes #2 I know that’s not normal.

The bathroom thing is just wow.. And you are right.. I'm a dog lover and live all types of dogs but their tongue on me is just not acceptable. When my cousin's dog tries to lick me, I always say no to her. Yes she licks my cousins and they tell me "its okay, she licks cause she likes you". But I told them " I love her too, but I don't like it when she licks". Now they don't say that to me anymore. Sometimes, the dog gets all excited and decides to lick me, my cousin tells her " no licking".. so yh thats me with dogs.. World's most amazing creatures but no licking for me.

Yeah it’s like she starts to panic if she doesn’t see him, I have our kitchen blocked off with a doggy gate and she absolutely hates it when he goes in there cause she can’t be by his side and starts barking like crazy. She really thinks she’s the Alfa and is in control of him, sadly he doesn’t see that. At the beginning of our relationship I thought I was crazy for not liking the poor thing but now as time has progressed not even his own family can stand his dog lol. She’s poorly untrained and it saddens me cause I can’t even take her to parks or anywhere without trying to attack everything.

So, I don't have a dog but I get what you're saying and that scenario you're talking about is gross. Not a deal breaker but def something to change in the relationship. You are NOT overreacting. I do have a cat who rubs my face and will occasionally lick my nose. But I wash my face afterwards and would never expect someone to kiss me or come in contact with me after the cat.

Kissing your pet's head or something is fine, although not something I'd do.

I wouldn't eat anything that a cat or dog has licked or half eaten either, nor would I want it near my food, unless it's food I'm going to give it anyway.

Yeah my boyfriend doesn’t care about that at all it’s pretty gross. One time I had changed and forgot to put my clothes in the basket and she got a hold of my nickers and she was licking all over enjoying it, I never felt so violated in my life. My boyfriend just said it was just an accident and to forget about it.

I dated a girl who let her cats kiss her on the the mouth, then she would share ice cream on a spoon with them. Obviously, we didn't date very long and I never kissed her.
