Why a guy becomes quite when I talk about a guy I am talking to?

I know a guy for the past 6 months and we are friends, but he has been sending me mixed signals to the point I am so confused. We are both from different cultures and he is very interested in my culture. He blows my mind with the details he knows about my culture which I guess he has been doing a lot of research. He pretends to be confident but he is very quite and shy around me, he sometimes ignore me when we are alone but seeks my attention all the time when we are around other friends. I was talking to him ( lets call him A) about the guy I am talking to ( lets calls him B) and I was telling him how it went, he was excited to hear the details but went quite when I was talking more about the B’s traits and what he does for a living.

I got confused, because he kept bringing up B story all day and was telling our other friends about my adventure with B.

Because he likes you more than just a friend but the fact that you talk about another guy to him is going to make him turned off that you don’t like him the same , so in a sense he is jealous and probably won’t pursue you anymore , You girls need to remember Guys can’t really just be friends with a girl , if a guy is investing his time talking to you a lot then he pretty much wants to be more than just friends with you , he isn’t going to waste his time for a girl that he knows he doesn’t have a chance with or doesn’t want a chance with , Why guys and Girls really can’t be just friends , why it’s important if you are in a relationship with someone to remove yourself from opposite sex friends , out of respect for your partner , you might think that you are just being friendly but the other person is thinking otherwise , why most men are territorial over their girl cuz they know what other men are thinking jut like a girl be protective of her husband or boyfriend cuz she knows what other girls are thinking

I usually don’t talk about other guys in front of him, but I intentionally did this to see his reaction. I am confused with his mixed signals and I hoped for something to reassure me that my suspicion was correct.

I would move on and never speak to you again with the idea of dating. You obviously are never happy with what you have... THAT'S what guys hear. Done.

He is trying to be a good friend, but he’s interest in you but too shy to tell you.
You need to take charge now, and let him know you like him more than friends. I’m assuming you do?

Yeah, I am interested in him but I am as shy as him. I am trying to joke with him and be very open, not be sure what else I need to do.
We both turn red when we be are together or discussing something personal.

Joking with him isn’t enough. Maybe you can ask if he wants to go out somewhere with you? Cinema? Or other activity you both enjoy? And if you do, you can tell him you like spending time together like this, and that he can choose the next ‘date’. You might feel shy, but once you’ve said it it’s done and you don’t have to do it again.

That would be a possibility also, but if he was acting friendly I thought he might just give an advice or if he appeared upset about it, it might confirm my suspicion that he has some feelings for me.
With other girls in our group, he is the first one to give advice to them and appear more engaged in their story.

Haha I am waiting for him to make a move and I am willing to give him a chance. I dropped so many hints but I don’t think he got it.

If you want him to give you a chance, I suggest stop talking about other guys lol show some flirty interest but men do not like when you talk about other men especially when they are romantically interested
