Is he potentially interested in me as more than a friend or just a friend?

I have a guy coworker who is also my crush. I asked him a little while after we've been learning about each other if he was single. Surprisingly, he's not single and months later he asked me for my number so I could tell him what time we needed to be back inside for a group meeting all the staff needed to attend because he was going to be outside until the start of the meeting. And before he left to go outside, he told me he was going to text me. And he did text me about thirty minutes later. Side note, when I asked him if we single he said he didn't know what him and the girl was and he thought I said I was not single when I was asked in a group setting what my relationship status was. I just want him to ask me out/make a move if he's interested because I am.

If he's not single, then let it go. If he is single but you are not sure if he is interested, then ask him if he would like to hang out with you in more of a platonic setting. Like going to get coffee sometime together. Another thing you could do if you know he is single is ask him out on a date yourself.
