Is this man interested?

Met a guy at a Meetup event. We briefly talked and I felt mutual attraction and chemistry. I messages him on the app and shorty asked if he wanted to attend a market event. He said yes, and gave me his #. It wasn't really a "date" more like wanting to know him. I really do like him but he was on his phone a lot and when he dropped me off he said "okay check ya later" I texted saying we seemed like complete opposites and should be friends. He said he was only looking for friendship at this time. I had texted him a few times within a month, just to talk. He always responded right away. I basically put him off my mind and figured he was not into reaching out/texting to be friends so I let stopped. Then I saw him at another event, he was all smiles and happy to see me. It wss a large group and he stood by me and spoke to mostly me that night. The Way he smiled and looked at me I felt as though he was interested in a romantic way. He has not reached out vs text/ call to hang out so I'm confused if he is interested in anything

If the first thing you say to me that is informative is "I want to be friends since we are opposite." then I am going to say friendship back to you. I also know that's you are 35, sane, and know where your heart is. For me, it is over.

You told him that you are incompatible and better as friends, so why are you now wondering if he’s interested? He said he’s only looking for friendship anyway, so the fact that he isn’t pursuing you romantically shouldn’t be confusing.

I know. I said that because he didn't seem interested and in some ways we are opposites. But, I still desire him and find him attractive!

Well, you could try having a conversation with him about this but I don't know if it’s a good idea because he’s already told you he’s only looking for friends.
