What's really going on?

My boyfriend hasn't messaged me back in 6 months, he even forgot my birthday. What exactly is going on? Is he really busy, did he lose interest, am I over thinking? We have been together for 7 years, the last 4 those years I've been the one putting forth initiative in to messaging and checking to make sure he's ok. Have I done something wrong?

Most people rely on ghosting then being upfront about many things these days probably he’s too. I can only tell you to move on.
