Is he STALLING or trying to trust me?

this guy that I’ve been talking to since November has been keeping up with me every day over the phone for about one hour a day. He will talk to me at the end of everyday.

so far he’s only missed a couple days collectively , but every time he comes back, we end up being “closer”. He will tell me more information about himself and his past and the conversation would be longer (2-3hrs).

we don’t live in the same city & haven’t met yet.
so, is he stalling whenever he misses days? Does he not actually have interest in me and I’m just someone to talk to? Or is he gradually trusting me? Thanks in advance
