Are guys aware that their social media behavior can sometimes make their partner’s insecure?

I don’t mind if my boyfriend likes other girls’ photos, especially his friends. However; I must admit that I’ve seen him follow and like girl’s photos who he doesn’t even know. It’s those random girls who are always posing with bikinis that appear on his explore page lol. They’re beautiful and stunning women don’t get me wrong, but the Constant staring and zooming sometimes gets to me.

As someone who previously struggled with body image issues and major insecurity, his actions tend to bring back those feelings a little. Also, sometimes he’ll point out things I can change about my physical body, then sometimes he’s chill and seems to accept me the way I am. It’s so confusing lol.

I was just wondering if guys are innocent in such a situation. Are they just being guys? Or do they actually wish they were with girls with model type bodies? Thanks!

A couple of things. The woman I deeply love of five years she has a gorgeous body but there were a few times when I grew concerned about how much weight she lost since she suffered from an eating disorder for a long time and i didn't want her relapsing and I was concerned about how much weight she lost for health reasons i didn't want her to be underweight either. My concerns were purely for her own health benefit not for looks.

I've dealt with women who were so shallow and superficial their narcassism got to a point I couldn't be around them anymore. And i sat there thinking if these shallow narcassists gain 50lbs or 100lbs their face would be fat their tits would be small as they are now and their stomachs would be gargantous size and I would laugh at their swollen egos and swollen heads get crushed and brought back down to reality since they couldn't be vain and self centered and self absorbed anymore and then they would suffer depression and no longer have the ego boosts they get from desperate simps.

The woman I love looked hot in a bathing suit in fact she actually let me see old pics of her in a bathing suit for Christmas a couple years ago and it was really fucking sexy seeing her in that.

Unfortunately my ex, (Yep I broke up with him) wasn’t that kind. He wanted a woman with his ideas body in mind. Not for any health concerns. Just as trends change so to he wanted me to change. Big boobs, small boobs, bigger but, slim thighs then thick thighs and hips. I’m not a machine lol. I don’t know why I stayed this long, I suppose it’s cause I thought he’d eventually change. But I was wrong.

I politely spoke to him about it and he acted as tho he was the victim lol, and started to get verbally aggressive and curse. He said men are visual creatures and it’s normal etc. But I am happy to report that I’ve ended things with him. I’m much happier now even tho it’s only been a few days. He’s trying to apologise and come back but he’s not worth it.

So he is most likely looking at women he couldn’t even touch with a 100 Ft pole. I would say it’s more of a fantasy because people enjoy people that they can’t get. Does he realize that it makes you feel insecure? Most likely not. He is so stuck on the thought that he knows he will never get her, that he doesn’t realize what is going through your head when he looks at women like that. Does that mean you are less? Absolutely not. I don’t agree with him wanting to change things about your appearance - as he is not your owner and his opinion is just an opinion and should be less valued than your opinion of yourself. I think you need to analyze if there’s anything that you want to change about your appearance. A lot of insecurities come from the fact that we do need to change in some kind of way whether it be the way we think or appearance.

He knew it was bothering me but kept doing it. I’m happy to say that I broke up with him. I suppose guilt is taking over him cause he’s apologising and trying to come back but I won’t accept him back.

I realised that no one may ever be enough for him. Even when I lost weight and became confident for myself, he started pointing out that I should get a bigger but. When that happened, he commented that I still don’t have a thigh gap lol. It’s so hilarious to me now that I allowed him to make me feel unworthy. I feel better now having left him.

He’s also jobless and I guess that’s why he was with me lol. I blame myself for being fooled there. I guess I thought he could’ve changed

@asker sounds like he lost out on a good person and also mad that he can no longer abuse you. Make sure to walk away from him asap. He sounds like he was just trying to degrade you meanwhile he lacks education on nutrition , so his advice was never in your best interest. On top of all that, he has nothing to offer. Nah he’s a man in his 30’s without a job, he didn’t graduate high school. I was the one he was depending on. I blame myself totally for thinking he was gonna eventually change and open his business. I was wrong. I guess him acting the way he was made him feel like “the man in the relationship”. Unfortunately he fooled me , but I broke up with him now. I feel better.
