A guy that I used to talk to for 4 years on and off hit me up the other day asking what I did for valentines day so I told him I was with the guy I’m seeing even though the guy I used to talk to has a girlfriend. Today we were joking around and he said ‘smd’ as in suck my dick so I said no then he said yes so I asked him if he’s not with his girlfriend and he said he is and why? Then I told him not to talk like that to me when he has a girlfriend and he said it’s a figure of speech and said that was weird and said he’s out the chat. I didn’t mean to offend him but how else was I meant to take it? Why would he react that way?

It could be a figure of speech or not depending on the context in which he used it.

We were basically play fighting with words so he would cuss me and I would do the same, we’ve always done this so with part of that he told me ‘shut up’ and I said no so he said ‘smd’ and in the past when he’s said ‘smd’ he meant it literally that’s why I felt that he was being serious

I tend to think he intended it as a figure of speech in this case. I would give him the benefit of the doubt this time and tell him not to say it again.
