Why are men so obsessed with having super MASCULAR bodies? ?

Like, don't they understand that it's not what most women prefer?

In my opinion most guys do it to flex to their friends or for health reasons... Because it's not that attractive in my opinion. Also I dislike how all guys here ask such questions about what type women like..

Because it´s a mix out of passion and ambition. It´s scientificially proven that a strong physique and regularly working out has positive effects on a person´s health. Sure they do it for the looks, too but I don´t think it´s not the main reason. Sure there are many guys that don´t but those guys have different lifegoals.

I wouldn´t call it insecurity because it´s not always the case. I know many guys and women that go regular to the gym or workout in some other form (e. g. calisthenics) because they say it boosts their confidence and gives them a better sleep routine.

I don´t think it matters that much if women find a super mascular body attractive or not because many women go regularly to a nail studio or use makeup every time they leave the house and I don´t know that many guys that like that either or understand it.

I think those guys do it because it makes them feel better in their body while some that surely overdo (bodybuilders or wrestlers for instance) it but that´s often so because it´s their job.

People that like overcoming challenges will lift weights and keep pushing their physical limits to see what they are capable of. As a result they will become muscular as a side effect. That’s just what happens when you overcome challenges of strength/sport. The main guys that tend to lift weights out of insecurity tend to be ectomorphs. They were always the skinny, lanky, weak kid growing up so they try to build muscle to be as big and strong as all those mesomorph and endomorphs that were much larger and stronger than them as a kid. So they often turn to steroids and fad diets to try to bulk muscle because it doesn’t go on as easily for them. You can spot them pretty easily, because they are the ones with no body fat. They cut like girls, and roid up to bulk muscle pretty often and it tends to all be about appearance for them not actual performance to win a sport or whatever.

But... only a tiny percentage of guys are obsessed with having super muscular bodies. That's just not a "common" guy thing. It's... just a certain type. Which is why the vast majority of guys aren't overly muscular. But honestly, I don't know why those dudes are so obsessed with it. I've always figured it was insecurity.

I strength train but I'm definitely not big and you wouldn't even notice if I didn't tell you. I look 'fit' but that's it.

Like to get big I guess you have to eat a lot, and a lot of it is quite high body fat percentages I suspect. Like my body fat percentage is like 11% and I'm basically just lean muscle and bone.

I don't do it to attract women, because let's face it, women are never happy anyway.

They will say they like dad bods and whatever other shit. So their opinions aren't important.

False. Even if most women don’t end up with a hard body dude, 100% of women will fuck one or more.
If you want to suggest generalizations about preferences, keep in mind that evolutionary biology proves wrong 100% of women’s outward lies. Heterosexual men literally only conduct themselves in ways that improve their chances at procreating with attractive women. This is a scientifically irrefutable fact and has been farther back than anyone can prove otherwise. So men who believe that women want physically fit men are literally responding to women’s demands over generations. Whatever you’re trying to sell isn’t supported by research in any way, shape or form.

I think that this obsession is far from universal. I have no interest in looking “muscular.” However, most guys want to be strong. I want to be able to move whatever I lay my hands on. I don’t want to find that I can’t lift something or hang onto something. I want to be strong. That seems natural. Sometimes, I worry I am not strong enough. I don’t think it’s an obsession for me, but I can see how it could become so.

I like having a very functional body. I can do a lot of physical labor and I can do it for a long time. I do not look like a bodybuilder but I have good muscle tone and good posture. My wife likes me just the way I am. When I ran marathons she used to say I wa too skinny.

He was so hot and so sexy, with broad shoulders and a very slim waist and strong, long legs.

Of course, I loved it about him.

Some girls do consider the muscular look to be the most attractive look. Me, I accept both slim and muscular bodies as equally attractive in men. And I will also date a guy who is neither fit nor muscular if his personality is good.

Actually women do prefer masculine men. Especially in the bedroom. Typically it's young women who are into the Justin beiber feminine type boys. It's a phase and women usually grow out of it.

I've never seen a guy on here ask what type women like. And as far as guys looking muscular my guess is it's along the same lines of all women wanting to look skinny. Guys aren't attracted to really skinny women either. I think each gender sets thier own ideals and expectations for thier gender.
