Why would a guy complain about me not talking to him?

• we were previously friends with benefits
• In the past he hasn’t returned my phone calls, so I quit calling.
• He only dry texts- responds in 1 to 3 words. I used to send whole sentences and pictures (nothing explicit, and usually not pictures of me), and I wasn’t getting that back so I started matching the energy.
• he never invites me anywhere, but makes blanket invitations to stuff on facebook; I stay away from his Facebook page so as not to get jealous. There are a ton of women on there.
• he keeps asking me for invitations to my friends hang outs but never comes, so I quit inviting him.
• I quit asking to see him after he started replying things like “I don’t care.”

after complaining I don’t talk to him, he didn’t reply to my text asking a good time to call for 24 hours. The day after he starts dry texting me again. What does he want from me?

Attention without obligation.

The problem is you care to much and he doesn't give a shit.

It would be a lot easier if you where seeing someone else as friends building up to FWBs to lead on as if you might be ready for a relationship while just having sexual activity with him because clearly there is not point in working on communication with him.

That way you can have the best of both worlds but only as 2 halfs because obviously its not leading anywhere and you already new it once you labeled it as FWBs but trying to wrap a relationship out of it as friends when clearly his not going into the friend zone.
