Is the ''If I can't have you then no one can'' a mainly male obsession?

Historically the obsessive stalkers and possessive lovers who can't take no for an answer were mainly sick, twisted men. They get too fixated with a woman to the point of doing horrible things if she doesn't want to be with him or rejects him. Then they use their famous phrase of ''If I can't have you then no one can''.

Is that mainly a man thing, obsession? A woman usually doesn't get that obsessed over a man (rarely would one act like the one in Fatal Attraction) nor applies that phrase too much.

No, not mainly a man thing. Many women fall for guys who need fixing, perhaps with the assumption that no other woman would want them at that point. If the guy ever tried to leave, she might say in an abusively nurturing way that he will have problems with other people if he doesn't change his bad behavior.
