In reference to this I don't mean scams eg like when you hear of older people who are not that great at tech and they're talking to someone online and sending cash to buy plane tickets etc.
What I mean by this is people in the 20-50 possibly 60 age bracket, who are lending money to "friends" (as actual friends would pay you back). I can understand 50, 100 maybe even 300, but I don't understand how you can let it go past that.
I read this story about this dude who's not wealthy enabled for two months - I mean thank god he saw the light - but still enabled this gold digger of a girl's behaviour. On their first date he ordered a salad for 20$ and her two 75$ shrimp specials plus wine. Had that been me I probably would have ended up paying but also showed him the keys to the door.
Like it's so weird, then to hear over 2 years I spent 6k on her, my jaw literally dropped, yes she's a manipulative c*nt of a gold digger, and typically I don't use that word. But you're the one who let that happen, especially if it was over years. I don't get it has anyone got experiences they want to share?
My philosophy with money is unless you absolutely trust that person, you only give money as a gift or obviously if you paying back your share of a meal. I went out with this dude and he asked for £40, I thought about it for a few seconds and said to myself it isn't a big deal if I lose £40, I mean I was pretty sure he wouldn't pay me back, and low and behold he didn't, but I knew what I was getting into at the time. But from what I see on the internet many guys don't seem to have this.

I agree that it's the person's own fault.
Is a guy trying to impress a girl by acting like a high roller for whom money is no object? If so, he's putting on a false image and not being honest.
Did he think that he could keep his income a secret forever?
I'm guessing that he's a shallow guy who can only recognize a woman's looks and is incapable of discerning her character. Either that, or he's a desperate guy who is an easy mark.
I always paid for dates. I didn't think twice about it because I wanted her to have a good experience and it was also for my enjoyment. And if we didn't continue dating for some reason, I didn't mourn the fact that I had spent a couple of bucks.
But I never had a girl order all kinds of expensive shit and expect me to pay for it. If she had, it would have been a red flag. It would be our last date. It's like "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." I'm not interested in spendthrifts.
Every girlfriend of mine had a job and supported herself. They were good people and equal partners. I would have dumped them if they tried to take advantage of me.
I've lost count on how much money I've sent to @Joker_
this guy just does not stop sending me money
