So I'm kind of well-educated, smart and fit. My female friends (including acquintances, friends of friends and my close friends) quite often complement me, starting from saying that I must be super smart up to saying I have beautiful eyes, a great body (and those who are really hot don't shy away from even touching my butt quite frequently). The thing is, guys I'm interested in, very rarely complement me. Those who are not my type (not handsome, not in my league etc.) sometimes complement me, but I'm not very fond of it, sometimes it's borderline creepy. What's wrong?

Id wonder if they are jealous.
May be? So my girl friends compliment me usually when we're only hanging out together with other girls, no guys.
Would that mean that guys don't like girls who are confident, aware of their worth and good looks, and who are not fishing for compliments from guys?
Most guys love girls who are confident.
Yeah, I know that cliche. But is it really so? Maybe they think I'm too confident, too competitve, out of their league or anything. Usually, I try not to brag about my achievements and stay humble, but maybe I send non-verbal signals that contradict that and I'm often perceived as not easily approachable. Some even say I'm serious, which is not very accurate as I tend to laugh and smile a lot when I feel comfortable in someone's company.
That's probably true for some guys.
Well, that's their problem then. Actually, I bet if I were a man with all those attributes I would be constantly approached by women. It's not fair TBH, double standards...
