Are human beings still being governed by their basic animal instincts?

I know we are self conscious beings with high intelligence but looking at people I still think that we subconsciously act with our animal instincts most of time even though we claim not to.

Are they there? Sure they're there. We are animals after all. But normal people don't just act. They think and analyze and have self control. I stress normal because there are some people who can't and are just lower forms of human honestly.

Yes I'm a guru on here and what you've listed is one example of an instinct. The instincts im talking about is cave people type instincts like "hey look at that pretty girl over there, I'm gonna grab her" which happens all the time.

People who are impulsive and just act because they can't control themselves. Im not talking about situations of life and death. I'm talking about people who get mad and just react by violence and lashing out because of no emotional maturity. Not having any SELF CONTROL. Kind of like you did with your reaction to my comment. You didn't think about what I was talking about you just immediately lashed out and said "you shouldn't be a guru". You reacted and assumed without critical thinking.

Also, now that I think about it, you kinda shot yourself in the foot too. In my initial comment I expressed surprise that you are a guru. I never said you shouldn't be a guru. I also followed up with an example of what I believe to be a basic instinct and left it there (since you message gave no indication of which instincts and inferred a generalisation of all of them and an indignation to people who couldn't control them). You then got defensive and responded with an emotional outburst in which you accused me of lashing out because of a lack of self control or maturity. Would that put yoy in the 'lower life forms' category as well then?

There's literally no other context for "woe, and you're a guru?" The only context you mean is what I'm saying is the opposite of a guru. See, what you're doing is trying to spin things. I literally said in my original comment that I was talking about not having self control. In my second comment I even capitalized it to stress it.

So if you misinterpreted my original comment you should've asked me to clarify if you didn't understand. Instead of trying to create a response telling me how wrong I was and how it wasn't worthy of being a comment from a guru.

See you spinning the comment around and trying to say "oh that's not what I meant" , when it clearly is, that's an example of gaslighting. That's what narcissists do. You know the type of people who will jump at the opportunity to try to prove they're smarter than other people and try to tell other people how wrong they are. Even when nobody was talking to them in the first place.

Dollars to doughnuts if I checked your comment history on here there are probably several responses that are you telling other people how wrong they are or showing that you think you're the smartest in the room.
