Why did he leave me on read?

There’s this guy I’ve been talking to a lot recently. We just reconnected after almost a year and I’d say we’re a little bit more than friends. It’s been like almost 2 months now and I can tell by the way he texts that it’s a bit romantic. He always sends hearts of he always saves my snaps in chat commenting on how pretty I am. I try giving the same energy but not to a full extent. We had talked a bit today and as usual he saved my snap and said “damnnn y you so fine? I had to say it”. I finally felt like more comfortable enough to accept that we’re more than friends and I said good night with a heart “❤️” and he left me on read. Now it could’ve been an accident or he actually did it but now I’m just confused.

No that seems about right, there's no response to a goodnight, mostly if he already told you goodnight, he will most likely start another conversation tomorrow, don't overthink lol
