Is a football game more important than a girlfriend or wife's hugs?

I hope this isn't how many men think in real life. I was watching a short film about a man rudely saying ''get off'' and rejecting his wife's affection and hugs just because he was watching football and thought that was more important. Then he purposely ignored what his wife had to say about their special day by talking about just the Patriots and more about games than how they met..

I think that would be the origin of how later on she would feel neglected. Then it would eventually it'll lead to a break-up or divorce and she wouldn't be 100% at fault there. He played a role by thinking watching games are more important than his wife.

Then the argument started when she is upset by then and turns off the TV.

Nope not at all. I intentionally don't have any sports alerts on my phone. Because I DVR all the games. I can come back and watch them at any point in time at my convenience. So if my woman wants my attention especially for a hug!!! Yeah you can bet your bottom dollar I'm putting that f****** TV remote down and hugging the s*** out of that woman!

And for all you guys out there that actually has a woman that wants to give you a f****** hug, you best f****** reread what I just said and respect that s***.

But all that s*** only works if you're the type of woman that's going to put your stuff aside, when that man wants your attention. If you're just the type of woman that wants to give you a man attention because you see that he's watching the game. But you don't want it at any other time yeah I got to call b******* on that. So just all depends on the situation

Yeah it should be even. I like comedy movies, horror and actions ones too, even some wrestling sports myself but if he wants to show his affection, he would be more important than whatever I'm watching. No one should feel neglected in the relationship.
If someone isn't giving affection or does it only at specific timing, yeah that's where arguments and misunderstandings will happen.

I have talked many, many, many women. I am affectionate... so I like affectionate women. That is usually covered up front, before even meeting.

No, but thats because:
1. Football is boring af.
2. You can just watch recordings of anything, and with most things there is now the option to pause it, so being interrupted doesn't matter, and live tv is overrated.
3. I don't go blind being hugged.
4. Watching movies/anime or playing videogames while cuddling is better than doing those things while not cuddling. Though I'd only get into a relationship with a woman who shares my hobbies and interests, so neglect would be pretty much impossible anyway.

Why would she put him in a position where he had to choose between her and the football game that was obviously iportant to him? Let him watch the game and have his attention at a more appropriate time.

Now, if he is always that way and not just during the game, that's a different story.

No it isn’t. But why choose to do such a thing when you know he loves watching sports. You have many opportunities to do that, but now you want him to give you attention during the one time he feels like he can relax, maybe eat some food, drink a few beers. Why? You can’t go 2-3 hours w out that attention so you cut into his time. I’m sure there’s things you like to do yourself that is your time. Let him be. Unless it’s an emergency, I mean a real emergency don’t bother him. The best wives in my opinion, well part of a good wife are the ones who like watching the games w their man. Mine does. I could easily say your neediness could also cause a divorce, that he may start to resent you. It’s different if he’s like this all the damn time. I work hard, maybe 60-75 hours a week, I just want to spend a few hours watching the game w out being bothered.

Yes it can be because it´s a time where he doesn´t want to talk about important stuff. He´s tired and unable to concentrate on anything important. It´s not the game is generally more important it´s the wrong time. I´m sure women also have times where she doesn´t want to have certain talks because she´s not in the mood for important talks like family planning or where to move next.

That´s the same here.

I think she is to blame in such a situation since she not only doesn´t understand that she completely ignores that. If you can´t figure when´s the best time for your partner to talk about special time and when isn´t, you shouldn´t marry him in the first place.

I don't watch professional sports and I don't have cable on which to do it even if I wanted to. A good grilled cheese sandwich is more important than a football game to me. As is a mediocre grilled cheese sandwich.

That’s not the point. They are married so she knows he is spending that time watching the game. If she needed a hug or wanted some affection she can plan another time. Can’t you give hugs 24/7?

Sure if she’s down to watch and cuddle with him then why not? But he likely knew in that case she either felt bored or neglected which isn’t great as she knows he’s a fan and the game isn’t a mystery when it’s scheduled

I don't think it's about expecting it 24/7. If he's clearly done with work, both already ate, there is nothing to do anymore and he's just watching the game; hugging him doesn't deserved to be met with an attitude.

It’s not. Again she can choose to kiss him during a commercial. She’s got all morning before the game. If she’s so clingy that she has to ruin him watching the game, that’s selfish and rude behavior on her part. As a married couple very immature so she deserves attitude and pushback by him.

Just like if he’s acting mature and she holds him accountable. I can suggest many cases where he is to blame for different behavior.
