I approached my coworker and talked with him about work letting him know that I have finished the work. After I said that I did a thumbs up at him. He continues to stare and copied my action, doing the thumbs up. I read online that when someone mirrors your body language means they like the person but I’m not sure if it’s just act of kindness.
It is true. People often mirror body movements when they are interested in what you have to say/ you. Body language helps a lot, when It comes to understanding how someone really feels. Keep in mind though, this has to be repeated behavior, you can't assume off of him thumbs upping back. It could mean the same as a wave goodbye. Lookout for body language mirroring like: Him mirroring the direction your facing, putting his hand in his pocket when you do, crossing arms when you do, matching facial expressions, etc. You can test this out when your with your friends by the way. You will notice if you talk to them they will sometimes mimic you l, without noticing. Easiest one would be telling a story and when you tell the surprising part you open your eyes more and they subconsciously mirror it by widening their eyes too.

I'm not 100 % certain but I believe so! I know I do mirror my crush without thinking then I realize it in two or three seconds that I have done so again.

Yes. Typically when someone likes you they will mirror your actions. My boyfriend does it a lot, and I've also found myself mirroring him. However, I do feel like if someone gives you a thumbs-up, it feels weird to not give one back. Does he mirror your actions in other ways?

It may be true, but you need to see it happen often in different ways, otherwise it may just be an anomaly.
