Kissed someone else drunk after 5 dates with a guy (not exclusive). I apologised straight away but he has not taken it well. Should I just leave it?

I had explicitly apologised for what happened. We had not had an exclusive conversation, nor spoke about anyone else previously. He had said that he would not have done this to me and believes we are not a match for a relationship. Everything had been going well to this point so i have assumed this was the reason why. I accepted this and did not text him after this statement. He has proceeded to text the following day albeit a lot less in volume than usual, however he did reply in the same minute. Did he regret acting in haste / is he just trying to keep me round for ulterior motives? My plan is to not text again and move on, seeing if he reaches out as I understand it may have hurt his feelings that he did not realise he had at this point.

So, I take it that being "not exclusive" means you didn't have any commitment to this guy? If that's the case, why did you feel the need to apologize to him? He can't really expect you to be faithful if you weren't even exclusive!

Should I just leave it?

Maybe next time you should make sure you both understand what kind of relationship you have before kissing someone else!
