Guys, when you're friends with a girl, are you actually her friend or do you have other motives?

i feel like most guys when they're friends with girls its cause they like her and want to get closer, or they just want to fuck her

also when i mean friend i dont mean a casual 'friend' that you hang out with sometimes with other people or something like that. i mean someone that you at least sometimes hang out one on one, that you talk to often and that you can say they're a friend not just lowkey one

Most guys have ulterior motives.


I have a handful of female friends that I was close enough to hang out 1-on-1 and do things together like study at a library, go on a run, or catch up at a cafe.


I wasn’t romantically interested in them—they were genuinely just friends.


One of them, who I went to the gym with sometimes, even had a huge crush on me, but I kept her in the friend zone because I didn’t see her that way.


Most girls in my life have been put in the acquaintance zone though—they know me enough to always say hi to me and greet me or give me a hug, but not close enough to hang out 1-on-1.


My dating method has been pretty much making a lot of friends in general, guys and girls.


Then, among the pool of girls, there are some who are acquaintances and will stay that way, some who are friends and will stay that way, and maybe a select few that I feel a special spark with.


Then, who am I truly drawn to the most and feel something magical happening between us? That’s the one that begins as a friend and then we become more than friends.


So, I’m able to make plenty of female acquaintances who are friendly with me.


As for actual friends, those are definitely only a small handful.


Then for romantic interests, those are rare ones out of the small handful of friends.


This is just from my personal experience though.


I don’t really experience the friend zone wall, so this approach works for me—make a ton of friends and see what magic happens down the road—most become acquaintances, some remain as friends, occasionally some become more than friends.


That was all when I was single though. No more 1-on-1 meetings once I’m taken. It’s group-only from there. Even if we’re friends, group hangouts only.

I clicked on a but I can´t deny that there is some level of attractions towards her on my side so to keep it low I treat her differently than I treat guys. Like I don´t go to certain places with them like a public swimming pool, I meet with them preferingly in groups with other girls and guys. It could happen that we´re alone for some time but I´m not planning to meet them alone.
But they are still friends because I talk to them on a regular basis, I talk with them either on the phone through messaging services. I also see them regularly but I still acknowledge that they are different to my guy friends.

Depends on the girl and depends on how much time he is investing into her. I may, jokingly, hint once or twice that sex would be great but, I'll never push it constantly or demand or force her into anything of the sort. If SHE wants to go that route, that's completely up to her. She could walk around me completely naked and, aside from a few jokes, be perfectly safe.
