Potential manwhore trying to sabotage me?

There's a guy who I know to be friendly and helpful. Sometimes, he might even be TOO friendly to a few girls in my opinion. He's not bad-looking. But he has a reputation of being a hoe and lots of girls liking him. I even talked shit about him at one point and I admitted that to him a few days ago. He didn't look mad or anything but I don't know.

I like physical contact a lot. A few days ago, I was struggling to put my necklace on and he offered to help me (this was after I admitted to talking shit about him). I could literally feel him behind me and felt really shy and awkward but played it off by joking around and stuff. The problem is, this hoe-guy is friends with an old friend-group that I used to hang around with but stopped because a LOT of stuff happened. That friend-group HATES me a lot but they are now talking about how Hoe-guy and I would make a cute couple. It's kinda suspicious to me. Hoe-guy and I talk more nowadays than before. He helps me and stuff but I don't know what I should do. What is this guy trying to do?

You already know he’s a hoe, so why act dumb and be delusional. You brought up your old friend group saying you’d be a cute couple cause you wanna entertain the idea of you two together.
