Do some guys actually blow smoke in your face as flirting? If so, what does it mean?

I have heard this from many girls and some guys too. It seems very weird and kinda unbelievable.

My crush was vaping and then blew the smoke in my face. This got me curious.

For more details: my crush is my classmate. It's common here for classmates to tease eachother like that, but they usually blow smoke from distance, mostly on the hair. The thing that got me curious is that we were passing by each other and he was really close to my face when we had eye contact and then he blew the smoke in my face

Really? You have heard that a lot of people do that and to flirt? Damn. I don't know where you are from but that doesn't happen around here. I would be pissed if someone did that to me. It is extremely rude. I wouldn't date or even crush on someone that smoked in the first place. I don't care if it was vape or whatever. Dude does that to me and it is game over. I honestly never had heard of that so I am not sure if it is a way of flirting. I certainly wouldn't take it to mean that.

Yeah here at least 85% of guys smoke from the age of like 15. And yes many girls have told me that it's a form of flirting.

If 85% of guys smoke from 15 you're not in the USA. Likely Indonesia, Turkey, or countries like Ukraine or Russia which have some of the highest stats for youth smokers.

Which brings up an interesting aspect. Because even in such countries most people - unless they are bottom of the soco economic class & poorly raised / educated - would consider this insulting not flirting.

I’ve only done that with partners I like, and we’ve both been okay. Some guys do that. I think if you’re not dating it’s not okay but it’s everyone’s preference.


The one time I did go on a date, some guy blew his vape in my face. Like, we did kiss before that. But that completely turned me off and I didn’t go out with him again. I told him straight up “Don’t do that again.” If you don’t like it, tell your crush.
