I tried to be fun, but Convo dry yet he tries to coninue convo going, why does he not leave me on read? Read below for more?

I tried being bubbly and sending funny texts but he just seems to ignore them almost like they're taking things seriously, almost changing the topic a lot. I'm honestly not sure if they're socially awkward or what, but it's difficult to keep this going. The convo is kind of awkward after 2 days of texting, I honestly don't know why he's maintaining this conversation going at this point. I don't want to be rude and leave him on read, I rather they leave me on read but they don't. What should I do?

Hmm that is weird. Sounds like this guy is trying real hard to keep talking to you but the convo just ain't flowing. A few possibilities:

- He's into you and doesn't want to seem uninterested by leaving you on read. But he's also kinda awkward and doesn't know how to actually have a good text conversation.

- He's bored and you're the only person he's talking to at the moment so he keeps replying just to reply, even if it's boring.

- He wants something from you (if you know what I mean...) and is pushing to keep you engaged even if you're not feeling it.

- He's really bad at picking up social cues through text. Some dudes just don't get when the vibes are off.

What I'd do is keep your replies short for now to see if he gets the hint. If he keeps trying too hard, you could just be straight with him - say the convo isn't flowing but you don't want things to be weird between you. Then leave the ball in his court. Don't force it if the chemistry ain't there. You gotta do what feels right for you!

Shouldn't have to try. It should just flow naturally. Don't play yourself love. Tell him it's not going anywhere and move on. No harm no foul. Not your fault he's not reciprocating the energy.

The thing is I'm interested, it's just the conversation is boring. I come up with something funny and they seem to not react to the text and continue with the conversation. Like, I will talk about how a school is a monopoly for selling something overpriced or how silly a professor was for posting a silly image on a powerpoint. And they would just ignore my silliness and attempts of making the conversation engaging
