Why did he block me?

A guy started talking to me and expressed his interest in dating me and making me his girlfriend. I gave him my number, and we started talking. He was super sweet and flirty, and everything seemed to be going really well. However, out of nowhere, he suddenly blocked me or ghosted me (I'm not sure). I'm left wondering why he did this.
