Why am I being attacked?

I was getting a vibe that one of my coworkers MIGHT be gay. Him and I have become cool for two weeks but we aren't that close cause we just met... The only reason I get that feeling comes from another coworker who thought of it first. I told another coworker about my assumptions and they told me they heard from three other people that he IS gay and thought I already heard about the rumors. So I then asked him about it and also tell him the rumors that were going around. He is calm at first but went off on me for even making those assumptions and accused me of spreading rumors. But the rumors were already started from other people before I even came up with the assumption? His sexually means nothing to me and I didn't take any of this serious.

Yo, I get you were just curious and trying to chat about office gossip like folks do, but speculating on another man's sexuality ain't cool. A few things to learn from this:

- Just because you hear rumors doesn't mean you gotta repeat them. Now you dragged this dude into other people's mess.

- Sexual rumors can really hurt and embarrass someone, whether they're true or not. Not your business to "out" anyone.

- Best move is staying in your own lane. Focus on work, be cool to all, and let people share personal stuff on their own time.

My advice - next time rumors starts, shut it down. A simple "not for me to say" leaves it alone. And apologize to your coworker - say his business matters and you won't spread hearsay again.

Stay out of that mess from now on. Your job is the job, personal lives stay personal unless folks want to open up to you directly. Lesson learned - do better moving forward!

Your being attacked because your the face of the rumors. Probably no one else had gone up to him to ask him that other then you. So if he had no idea everyone thought this and suddenly you bring it up and mention that this is a rumor going around, he's not gonna be to happy about the situation.

If his sexuality means nothing to you then why ask him about it 😂.
