What does my family friend (male) mean by you are meant to be staying in my room?

I stayed in my family friends who were about my age. We stayed at his house with his siblings and his parents and my sister and I were given the guest room. I always stayed on my own and kept to myself. I noticed that whenever this family friend hears my voice he would come to where I was. He was always picking on me and teasing me. Whenever I open the door for him and his girlfriend he will be talking about me to his girlfriend like I wasn’t even there saying things like this was the girl I was talking about and this chick did such and such. One night he invited my sisters and I to his room to chill and have drinks and I said that this was my first time coming to his room and he said “what I was doing was not right and I am even meant to be staying in his room” lol. What does he mean by this?

You would need to ask him, and given he was being mean to you its unlikely you would get a straight answer. Best to just decide if you want to hang in his room or not. I'd choose not personally.

There is a sorry state of affairs where good looking men tell other men that by making women insecure they are more likely to second guess themselves and possibly sleep with a man they otherwise would not out of some kind of fear of missing out.

Whether that is true or not I cannot say, but I can say its been my experience that girlfriends suddenly get more interested in me when I find I'm more interested in other women

Also the expression "treat them mean keep them keen" is bandied about a lot.

He might take you wanting your space as a rejection of him and then start acting like a jerk to make himself feel better. Personally, if someone turns mean when you decide to spend time with others thats a sign maybe their not good partner material.
