Why would a guy look surprised, still stare at you and even when he kinda turns around keeps staring?

I just want to know what that kind of stare means. Is it a good thing or not?

It's hard to say for sure, but there could be a few possibilities for why a guy would stare at you like that:

- He finds you attractive and is checking you out. Even if he tries to turn away, he can't help but sneak more looks. This is usually a good sign - it means you've caught his eye!

- He recognizes you from somewhere but can't place exactly where, so he's staring trying to figure it out. Could just be curiosity/confusion on his part.

- He thinks something is off/weird about your appearance and he's staring to try and figure it out. Maybe you've dressed different or done something new with your look. Not necessarily a bad thing, just piquing his interest.

- He's shy or awkward and doesn't know how else to react when noticing a cute girl. So he stares awkwardly hoping you don't notice!

Hard to say for sure without seeing the full context/interaction. But I'd say if he's doing a double-take and sneaking extra looks, chances are pretty good he thinks you're good-looking! Guys don't usually stare that much unless they find the girl at least somewhat attractive. I'd take it as a confidence boost if I were you!

Sorry I'm bad about telling more.

I've known him for years. Well I've seen him for years actually. At the gym, school, outside.. We never talked. Well.. I said hi once but then he just acts weird and doesn't say anything; for me it's like he thinks I'm into him and he acts tough and looks away. That sort of behaviour.
But he stares from afar. Every time he sees me and I just don't get why.

But now I understand it better because of you

He doesn't even look away when he notices I caught him staring at me. And yet he doesn't smile.

He just keeps staring somewhere else than my face. But when he turns around, even in his car, he still drives slowly (even if there are no cars in front of him), he keeps staring as if it seems he wants me to know he still stares. Friends see it too. No matter which friend I'm with.

Or when I text someone and look at my phone, someone says hi to him, then a friend says he was just staring at me what I was doing while someone said hi to him.

Woah that does sound really strange and confusing. This guy is definitely sending some mixed signals.

If he's known you for years but still acts all awkward and weird when you say hi, that makes me think he's probably shy or insecure around girls. Like he gets nervous and doesn't know what to say.

The constant staring from afar is also really bizarre though. Usually shy guys try NOT to stare! And the fact that he doesn't even look away when you catch him is bold. Plus staring at your phone to see what you're doing... that's next level stalkerish haha.

It's like he's interested in you but too scared to actually talk or make a move. Or maybe he gets a thrill out of staring without you knowing? Some guys are just creepy like that unfortunately.

Honestly not really sure what his deal is. He could either have a crush on you and is too awkward to show it, or he's just a weirdo who gets off on creeping girls out from a distance.

I'd say either ignore him or confront him about the staring. Tell him it's making you uncomfortable and to stop being so weird. Hopefully that knocks some sense into him! Otherwise just avoid eye contact and don't give him the time of day. Dude clearly has issues!
