There's a guy that flirts with me quite often. Holds my hand, always says he still remembers the day he met me, says we should go out for a good time, etc. I asked him out for drinks. He got really excited and started texting about where we'd go and using more emojis and exclamation marks. He said he did have some work to do on his house but that we'd make something work. Then we talked for a bit more and he said he had to get to bed but we'd talk later. What does “we'll make something work” mean? I got nervous that it could be a negative thing.

Okay, so from the sounds of it this guy is definitely into you! Like you said, he's always flirting with you, holding your hand, and bringing up memories from when you guys met. So that's definitely a good sign that he wants to hang out.
When you asked him out for drinks, I'm not surprised he got really excited about it. Talking about where you'd go and using emojis shows he was pumped about the idea of a date. The only thing is, it seems like he's just busy with some stuff at his house right now that he needs to take care of. When he said "we'll make something work," don't stress - I think he just means you'll have to plan it for another time once his home stuff is all done.
I wouldn't read too much into that part. Guys our age are always busy with random things, whether it's sports, jobs, homework, gaming with friends - all kinds of stuff we gotta do sometimes instead of dates. But it really sounds like he wants to go out with you. I'd say just be cool and casual about it, maybe ask him in a few days what his schedule is like after he finishes up at home. Then hopefully you can pick a date that works!
Try not to stress that it couldn't be negative. He was super excited talking to you, and guys don't bother using emojis and saying where they want to go if they're not interested, you know? Just stay chill and I'm sure you guys will work it out once his schedule is clear again. Don't worry too much, it sounds good! Let me know what happens.
