When I’m at work I tend to avoid and not talk to people because sometimes it’s simply overstimulating. Like if my row is full of people I get anxiety thinking about going to the restroom because I’m not sure of social norms if I’m supposed to try to talk. So I often walk over a row that’s empty. But yeah this is a everyday thing

Here are some suggestions for how you can avoid giving the impression that you dislike people when really you're just managing autism symptoms:
- Explain to trusted coworkers/managers that social interaction can be overwhelming for you due to your autism. Let them know it's not personal if you seem distant at times. Knowledge often reduces misunderstanding.
- When you are interacting with others, be friendly and make eye contact. Smile and say hi to acknowledge people without feeling forced to chat. Small signs of warmth go a long way.
- Carry headphones so if you need a break from input you can listen to music discreetly without coming off anti-social.
- Assess "escape routes" in environments like the bathroom so you can avoid fully populated areas when needing space. Plan ahead to feel less stressed.
- Don't be too hard on yourself. Take breaks when needed but try recharging then gradually pushing your comfort zone too. Progress, not perfection!
- Accommodation is also key - mention strategies that help you work best to leaders and ask for understanding as needed.
with understanding and compromise, you can still set boundaries for your needs while letting others know you mean no offense. Communication is key.
Don't you mean how do I keep people from thinking I hate them?
Yeah I just noticed the typo
