What fascinates you most about human behavior?

There are 3 major things that fascinate me about humans;

one: the fact that war never ends, we simply cannot seem to be able to escape it. someone is always at war with someone else, and I don't see this changing any time soon.

two: insecurities, we all have them, but we all react to them differently and some people, most people go overboard because of them.

Three: the belief in God and how some people still don't believe. my main reason for believing in god is how everything seems to have worked out perfectly for us, the earth is at just the right distance from the sun so that its inhabitable. its got all the elements we need to sustain life. we even have a moon that allows us to survive, for if we had no moon, no creature taller than 10 cm could survive on this planet. we're not close enough for any star to explode and kill us. so with all this perfection, how is it that some still think its just coincidence that we're here? I think its all set up by a higher power.

Phobias.

I am never going to understand how, even though I realize I have no reason to be afraid of something as random as a toad, I get s**t scared and have a panic attack if one's closer than 5 feet away.

People wanting to feel miserable.

And by that I'm talking about the girls that always go back to their abusive relationship and always forgive the douche who treats them like crap. It probably has something to do with masochism, or with the impression that she is the only girl who can change him.

Racism.

Considering how much someone can hate a different race, I'm always shocked when I find out they live with someone of a different specie, like a dog or something.

lol phobies can be hilarious tho. you know, there s a way to get over them. but there's no point with you because when are you ever going to be in a position where you need to do something and can't just because there's a toad around? haha.

Yeah I know, but I'm really not into that whole "facing your fears" thing. I've got times when I feel braver, but that's just it. Most of the time, if a toad is in front of my door, I'll use a pole to make it leave before trying to get in. It's not as bad as spiders or pigeons, thank god.

That people think the beauty and intricacy of the universe must indicate a higher power. >_> Do you know how big the universe is? It's likely that there are even OTHER planets out there that have life on them, not just us.

Also, that so many people don't learn from their own mistakes OR from other people's mistakes. A person will observe a friend who got pregnant because she didn't use a condom, but then they STILL won't use any protection. Or at a bigger level, we witness people in other countries being oppressed, then vote for government officials who want to oppress us.

but still, scientists have explored a pretty big part of it, and out of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of planets they've looked at, only one comes close to earth, that's just nuts.

OH I thought of another thing.

People so willingly put their health on the line to be more attractive. Diet pills, TOO much exercise, plastic surgery, eating disorders. Our priorities are so backwards.

Ppl do similiar things. If you go on Facebook and type in something random in the search bar you'll find all these kinks everyone has.

Running on all fours up the stairs, checking the fridge for food then the freezer then the fridge again even though you know nothing is there, opening bread and skipping the first piece, getting scared when people say "I need to tell you something", being scared of things you aren't real or won't happen, I know at least 500k people don't let their feet hang of the bed because they're scared of monsters grabbing their feet myself included.

One: I like how humans think they can lie to me. See I'm a communications major and I'm learning about non-verbal communication I like the expresions they make when I call them out on a lie.

Two: I also like some people think they know everything but when someone smarter gets in their face they lose it.( I work with a lot of high school students)

they did this thing where they had people look at images and they recorded what it looked like in the person's brain. its blurry and pretty sh*tty, but a major advance in neurology.

It is incredibly fascinating. Unfortunately my University is gay and doesn't teach any psych courses on deception or micro expressions, that is my number one motivation for even getting a degree in psych haha. Guess I'll have to read all of Dr. Ekmans books and learn it all myself!
