Would you take care of your sick girlfriend ?

my sister and her boyfriend live together and she was so sick with food posining that she was on the toilet with diarrhea and vomiting at the same time. she was so weak that she couldn't sit up or stand for too long,my family was so scared about her health. so he called me i'm only 17 what could i do that he couldn't. he said he loved her and wanted to marry her but now i don't think he's going to get my dads blessing. he had me wipe her ass and clean her up while he watched from a far with a face of disgust. i thought when you said that you would do anything for the person you love it meant anything! i had to suck it up and help clean up my sister and bring her to bed and stuff. but i'm so mad with her boyfriend its ridiculous. should i tell my sister that this guys she's with is a guy that's not gonna be there for her in times like that or just not do anything? are all guys like that ? are all guys there for you when your sick but chicken out or leave when things go wrong ? help me understand.

You've got plenty reason to be pissed. He should have did everything you did for your sister and not even called you. After all the vow is "in sickness and in health" right! Unless your sister is blinded by love I don't think you have to tell her that this guy's not gonna be there in times like that, his actions "or lack thereof" has told her that already. As for your dad, I would understand him not giving his blessing to the guy. He's probably thinking what else can't he be dependent on to do. Her boyfriend's gonna have to admit he F' ed up and convince everyone that he'll step up and do anything he needs to to protect and care for your sister.

I agree with you, I think it's quite terrible that her boyfriend wouldn't help her out. I for one would definitely look after and help my partner if she was that sick! She would be feeling terrible and so down and the last thing she needs is her boyfriend to just sit back and watch.

not all guys are like this, I always took care of my girl when she was sick, and even though we aren't together I still take care of her when she is sick and help her out any way I can.
