Girls, why would you show interest in person but be cold while texting?

This girl flirts a lot in person, but when we text each other (it's our main form of communication since we live 2 hours apart) she sometimes won't respond and won't ever text first. Our conversations are usually short, but she seems pretty interested in them.

Any idea what's going on in her head? It doesn't make sense to me at all.

How serious are you about her; do you plan to be in a relationship with her in the future? It may just be that she is being reserved to keep from getting hurt. LDR's are usually very tough and usually end badly. Also, she does have a life to tend to and can't be expected to wait by her phone to answer every message. Sorry if that was rude lol Most jobs and a lot of teaches don't allow cells phones to be on your person, let alone turned on, audible, and visible on the job site/in the classroom. I know I also prefer to talk in person because I either have a lot to say, or nothing at all and it's too much work to text it all on a touchscreen with tiny keys and a autocorrect.

Honestly I don't know how serious I am about her. We both don't really want a LDR (I'm sure it would be different if we were closer together) and I think because of that we both are reserved about our feelings.

As for the not answering her phone, I don't think it was rude at all and I understand that she can't always answer her phone. In fact, if she was at work/school, I wouldn't want her to answer lol.

I wouldn't really say that is cold. Some people just prefer face to face conversation and don't like texting and can't properly express themselves through text. I know that I don't like texting because I am very sarcastic and my tone isn't conveyed through texting and sometimes its just plain annoying when you are doing something. Why don't you give her a call one day. You mind find that voice communication is more her thing. If she is flirty in person, I wouldn't worry too much about the texting. It would only be an issue if it was the other way around ie. she was flirty in text but cold in person.

I think you're right. I think I stereotyped her by assuming that all girls like texting. The last point is a very good one too.

I don't like texting either, but there are some articles where I have specifically read where if a guy really shows an interest for a woman then they would take the intititive to go for the hunt for the girl. As, guys like the chase and some women prefer the guy to chase them and not the other way around. She may not even have her phone on or it could be charging you never know. Her attitude is really hard to tell in text as you can not hear her voice.

I don't really care for chasing girls, but I'm pretty sure the girl I'm talking about likes being chased. And I don't expect her to reply to my texts instantly. I think I call her up one day and see how it goes.

I hope it goes well. There is nothing better then hearing a persons voice. Texting to me feels so fake. I know I am a bit old fashioned and I still like a guy to chase me. I also read that there are guys who prefer to chase as opposed to having a woman chase them.

Mixed messages really are damaging to any relationship.

Forget text game. Women do love to text, but only their girlfriends/mothers/etc.

If you want to get her attention, never text her first, always wait for her to text you. When she does, keep your reply as brief as possible.

Example: (I'm pretending your name is Joe)

Her: Hey Joe! What have you been up to lately?

You: stuff

Be brief. Be aloof. It will drive her crazy.
