Does hair color really matter?

I hear a lot of people, especially men, saying that blondes are hot or brunettes are the sexiest or that they have a thing for redheads. Both guys and girls: does hair color really matter? I personally think if someone's hot they're hot regardless of hair color. And the only reason I've dated brown haired men is that blondes are very uncommon in my area since it's mostly populated with people of Mediterranean European descent.

Hair color is important. I will almost always pick the blonde/brunette/redhead.

When people ASK if it matters, then it matters. But in reality, a beautiful woman or handsome man is just that, regardless of hair color/eye color. Remember, when people are asked then they state their *preferences* but I've never met anyone who has a SERIOUS preference for hair or eye color.

Research has shown that men are more likely to go for blondes as girlfriends, because they're perceived as more fun and outgoing. However, men are more likely to go for brunettes as wives, because they're perceived as being more stable.

Red hair is generally the least preferred...

But this is all generalized research. Some people prefer to believe in research when it helps their case or not believe in research when it proves otherwise.

I don't even trust the research! All different answers. I asked this question because I saw a study that said men wanted brunettes as girlfriends because subconsciously they perceive them as healthy and fertile.

Well I do kind of care about hair color on men so it doesn't surprise me that they care too. Some hair colors just look better depending on the person but I do have a thing for darker haired guys. Everyone has a preference so don't try to change because there's always going to be guys that like you and some that won't.

I'm a blond and hair color doesn't matter to me that much. I like blondes and brunettes, brunettes a little more (especially with light eyes). I went on a date with a redhead once but my little brother is a ginger so all I saw the entire night was my brother. So I can't date redheads.

Hair color doesn't matter at all, if you hot, your hot but some people do prefer girls/guys with different hair color because of reasons of I don't know. I do like girls who have dyed blue hair, I think it looks cool but I don't really care about color when choosing a girl/guy.

Hair does make a lot of difference to a persons appearance, the color and the style. I have a preference of dark haired guys, but it's not a deal-breaker. People who dye their hair though, they have to pick a color that suits their skin tone otherwise they won't look right. So as long as it suits them, it's fine.

I think sometimes it does. I think its just more of the combo of complexion hair and eyes. I have porcelain skin with bright blue eyes that have a thick navy blue circle around them and bark chocolate brown hair. I have a lot of guys say its a rare combo.

it doesn't matter, its just more of a turn on if its a hair color we really like, its easier to be attracted to them if they have the hair, but if its another color and they like you, that's good because they think you are superior to the others.

I hate blondes. I just find them to be very unattractive for some reason. I'm not exactly sure why. I tend to date people with dark hair.
