For me, here are some things off the top of my head that I do.


1. Rest well the night before. No amount of caffeine can replace a good night’s sleep. Resting well before a productive day is critical, especially if the work you do will involve lots of creativity or problem-solving.


2. Start your day early to gather momentum. Starting the day early (think 4am or 5am) is great for getting a head start on your day. When the first hours of your day are pure focus and productivity, whether that be knocking out a workout and then diving into work or just diving into work right away, getting the day started with morning wins will give you the momentum to keep stacking wins throughout the rest of the day. It sets the tone for the rest of the day and primes your mind for success.


3. Taking breaks are important too. If you don’t take breaks, you may end up procrastinating or your mind will get unfocused. It’s better to plan your breaks, so that you give your brain the much needed rest it needs between psychological sprints of productivity. Working for 2-3-4 hour blocks at a time and then having a break works well for me (the longer the block, the longer the break).


4. Keep track of all your tasks and projects. Throughout your day, keep track on incoming tasks and projects so that you don’t look track of them. Also, keep them all organized in one place. Lastly, before you end your day, make sure you plan out exactly what you’ll be focusing on when you start your day again tomorrow. That way, you can let your mind rest, knowing that everything you need to do is written all in one place where you can review the next day. So now, you can turn your brain off and allow yourself to rest and relax, without worrying about forgetting anything.


5. It’s important to rest your brain after you work, for at least once a week. Otherwise, you can burn out. I’ve worked 12-hour days, 6 days a week before (sometimes even 7), and I found that I needed that Sunday to rest if I didn’t want to start my Monday with a headache. Chronic stress can create stress-induced headaches — so it’s important to intentionally give your brain time to cool off.

I do a lot of that especially on the weekends. I work during the week and do not really need to be very productive.

I usually start the day very early and have a good workout and a hot shower. I come home and jump right into the first chore. I keep going until 2 or 3 in the afternoon and then ask my wife what kind of takeout we will get. I am usually very tired and try to get to bed early and do it all over again on Sunday

Is that weekday workday? Or weekend workday?
my week day starts at 5:30 am till 5:30pm…come home. Shower, dinner. A little more work…, rest, relax.. then bed time.
my weekend…get up, cup of tea…. down to a spa day from 11am to 10pm. Bedtime at 10:30. I want it to be as lease predictive as possible on weekends.
my hubby is stay home dad and I don’t want him to be working (cooking) on weekends…
Americans work too much. They have no clue how to relax and enjoy life. the govt have trained them to work to sick/death. Fill their calendar with full schedules. Not how I want to live.

Calls at any time, bolt out of bed, get dressed while you listen to what the call is and haul ass down the street.

Just the luxury of taking a squirt is a great way to start the day.
