I have been in health and fitness for over 12yrs. I can tell by the way people talk about working out who actually knows what they are doing and who is just talking smack to act like they know.
First, you need to decide what you want out of a workout? What is your goal? You want to do it just to stay healthy or do you want to get toned up or do you want be muscular or gain strength or gain mass or gain endurance for a particular sport or build core strength.
For each goal there is a unique routine, on top of that working out is just 25% of your goal, the rest 75% is diet, rest and water intake. So you can kill yourself at the gym but will see no results if the rest of it is off.
Also, don't just start reading random forums and sites and picking out routines, YOUR body size, shape, bf% and goal requires a routine tailored TO that! Not one size fits all. For men, its a bit easier because of high level of testosterone.
Once you have all this figured out, your motivation will kick in all by itself because you will be driven BY your goal. You will know exactly what your body is going to look like as you progress in your routine, you will know the results before hand and you won't be working out aimlessly, wondering "what am I going to look like" or "when will I see results?". So motivation will come naturally, you will be pumped knowing what will be the end result.
Also, another really awesome way to motivate yourself is go buy a dress or bikini or whatever article of clothing which you saw on another girl or celebrity and hang it on front of your bedroom door or mirror, something you right now feel impossible to get into, look at it everyday and you will smile realizing that one day, you will be confidentially wearing it.
Good luck kiddo.

Well I had the same thing going till about last year in eight grade because I knew I was better than people thought I was and I wanted to get noticed by girls too. So what I did is every single day after I either came back from school l went straight to the gym to work out and I would only do it for about a hour a day. Then on the weekends I would try a bit harder and work out for longer. I really didn't change my eating habits much and after a year I now have a six pack and some defined muscles and girls approach me instead of glancing over me. But to stop procrastinating you have to tell yourself that sitting around is only going to hurt you and after working our it also makes you feel good. Now I love running around, and I can run 3 miles non stop without stopping.

sign up at bodybuildingforums. com and pick out a workout plan and follow it through step by step. its very motivating.
Print out a calendar, and write your goal on it. So., for example, "I will work out 3 times a week for 30 minutes each time". Tie a 'reward' to that goal. "If I work out consistently (3x a week for 30 minutes) for a month, I will buy myself a new shirt". ALWAYS work out on a Monday.
Mark your days off on your calendar.
Log each thing you eat using either a notepad or one of the many smartphone apps out there. When there are days I don't feel like working out, I usually put my favorite music on to motivate me. It strangely does tthe job in most cases.
When I have cravinggs for food, I typically chew gum. It tends to kill cravings for me for some reason.I suggest a vegan diet. It makes body healthier and light.
