You may be suffering from depression or anxiety. I used to deal with anxiety as well, & find comfort in talking to others & getting a realistic view on what I was worried about. Sometimes we don't realize how unrealistic the thoughts are in our head until we say them out loud or hear someone else's opinion. If you have any people in your life, who seem to very wise & or intelligent, you can talk your thoughts out with them. I did this with my dad when I was going through some severe anxiety, & he really helped me. I at that point in time, was so depressed, I actually wanted to die. If you don't have anyone to talk to, since you are probably still in school, I'd advice you to talk to a school counselor. I used to speak with our school counselor sometimes, & she really helped me with at the time. If you go to church, you can also talk to your youth minister or pastor, & they may have some guidance for you. And if all else fails, there is always therapy or a psychologist. Good luck.

I think it's because you are young, still have a lot of things to work out with your life. If you know you are missing out may be you should try different things.
Are you are around negative people not being kind to you? You need to focus on friends that will show you positive energy. I am in my late 40s and some days I just wish I could go back in bed get back up.
So to answer your question I think it's half-and-half, your environment plays 50% of how you feel. Like I said in the above statement get around positive energy.
Good luck
People don't like to equate the unseen with their troubles, but as someone who has literally felt demons leave me, i can tell you without a shadow of a doubt most mental illness and mental negativity is caused by malevolant forces.

They begin when we are young and continue working to ride us into the dirt.
Some work on sexual things, others on illnesses, other on things like negativity.
Those thoughts are not your own, but they are coming from somewhere.
If you have an open mind, please check this video, and others out.

I know what you mean. In the past, I was never a risk taker. I was shy and scared to do things which made me miss out on a lot. The only way I got through it was I just started saying yes, and said everything on my mind. It really does work, and you'll become a more optimistic person if you speak your mind. It kinda has a cycle haha
Could be depression. Negative thoughts are very normal in depressed people. hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.ca/.../...pression.html give this a look. Maybe it describes how you feel. Describes how I feel.
I don`t really think it`s depression. I`m the happiest person I know, yet negative thoughts prevent me from taking risks. I think your just the 'think ahead' type of person. Negative thoughts are in our nature. Don`t let it bother you too much, but if you really do think it`s serious, talk to someone.
It's nnormal tofeeldown fromtime to time. Italso might be depression though. Hard to say over the internet. Talk to someone if you feel like it's serious
I think a lot of us think negative a lot!
i think its just what you think of yourself and that you compare yourself to others a lot maybe?
or you could be over thinking a situation too much that can cause you to think negativeIt's far more stressful thinking/wondering about the negative outcomes and stuff. Find something that keeps your mind off those things. Like for me it's music, and running. FInd a counselor to talk to and help you overcome these things. (: good luck
